I Found a Lost Pet, What Now?

If you found a lost pet, we can scan it for a microchip and post a courtesy post online to try and locate the owner. Any vet's office will scan for a chip for free. Always contact your local animal control to report the pet as found and post a photo on social media to locate the owner.

How do I sign-up for Low-cost Microchipping?

Email us at ashleylong@hthhs.org to schedule a microchipping only appointment. Microchipping is only $25 through HTH and could help bring your pet home one day in the event they are lost. Name tags can fall off, but an internal name tag will not let you down.

What are your adoption fees?

Cats and kittens are $85, Dogs are $150, puppies $200. Adoption fees include spay/neuter, rabies vaccine, first core vaccination, microchip, deworming, and flea prevention. We do not test for FIV/FELV in our felines. This can be arranged for the cost of the test if it is important to you. We believe it is not a necessary test and prefer to keep our adoption fee lower.

What is the adoption procedure?

Step 1: Inquiry

Complete the Adoption Questionaire, it will be automatically sent to us.

Step 2: Interview

Our adoption coordinator will review your application and reach out to you.

Step 3: Adoption Agreement

Once approved for adoption, you will fill out the Adoption Contract and pay the adoption fee. We accept cash, card, check or money order.

Step 4: Pick up day Appointment

Upon completion of steps 1-3, your adoption may be finalized and we will schedule an appointment for you to pick up your new family member!

Step 5: Happytails

We take a happytails photo for Facebook, so come picture ready! We will send you home with a sample back of Hills Science Diet.

What if the adoption does not work out?

If at any time you cannot keep your adopted pet, HTH our adoption agreement outlines the pet to be returned to us. We will pass no penalty or judgement. Adoption fees are considered donations to HTH and are nonrefundable.
